Hi, everyone! In this latest tutorial, I'll show you how to easily and quickly model a voronoi-style bangle bracelet; suitable for use as either a high quality digital prop, or real-world 3d print, using basic polygonal modeling strategies in both 3dsmax and Blender 2.74! There's no additional plugins or addons required in either application, as we utilize only basic modifiers and basic polygonal modeling strategies to complete the model. This isn't a true voronoi topology, as you might have noticed, but the overall aesthetic is similar to a voronoi diagram tessellation, and I find the visual impact quite appealing. Hope you enjoy!
You can find the 3dsmax version of the tutorial here:
And the Blender 2.74 tutorial for the same model here:

PS: I'll have some models for redistribution on the way soon too. I just haven't had the chance recently to package up the freebies I've modeled. Stay tuned for those as well. Thanks again for your support!

Twisted Heart | Easy 3d Modeling | Blender 3.0
It doesn't get more simple than this. In preparation for Valentine's Day, I thought I'd share this quick and easy technique in Blender. The result is a stylized heart with a Mobius-like twist. Since the result is actually a watertight solid shape, this could be exported for 3d printing or used in any number of design projects. If you want to try a 3d print, just keep in mind the scale and thickness values of the object. I haven't illustrated that here, but many of my other videos go into detail about how to set up a scene for modeling to scale for 3d printing. Since the base of this shape is extremely low poly, it can be used in mograph or animation very easily. In fact, the turntable animation example at the beginning was rendered with Eevee in about 2 minutes.
Alien Botany - Species 2 - Blender Animation
Second installment to the Alien Botany series. I know it's been a while, but I started playing around with Geometry Nodes in Blender 3.0 and wanted to make something that used them. I'm only a novice when it comes to Geometry Nodes, so it was just a matter of taking advantage of the instancing features and also some of the cool effects that can be created using them. Some of this stuff can be done with basic particles too, but I found that the nodes offer a lot more control for certain things, and thus they were used for this animation.

Hi, everyone. Been a long time since I last posted anything here. Hopefully, I'll be around more often now. I hope everyone is doing well. Happy New Year to you all, and may this year be met with health and success for us all. I'd like to share my latest video on Youtube. Again, it has been quite a while since I posted a "tutorial" video. This one isn't quite a tutorial as much as it is a walkthrough of a modeling process. It's done in Blender 3.0, and I have Screencast Keys enabled. You can see the mouse buttons and the keystrokes in the lower right hand side of the viewport. Thank you for watching and stay tuned for more content in this new year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7T3q_822mo

Thank you so very much John for providing these incredible videos. I know you have seen this in my gallery, but realized today that I had not commented here on your journal. I really wanted to encourage everyone to do this tutorial. It was certainly a morale booster for me to be able to finish this project 3 months after downloading Blender. Your step by step instructions made this possible for me to follow. Your style of teaching is unsurpassed in my humble opinion. Thank you so very much for all that you do to help us grow in our abilities and to challenge ourselves to achieve new goals. Thank you for giving the dimensions so that we can keep our models looking so perfect. Guessing at dimensions only create nightmares as I have experienced with other's tutorials only to give up at the end.
I want those who have not decided yet to see my finished version. Please do not be afraid to take this on you will love the results. You will need to do post processing on this but I am sure that you can get this done in no time.
Good luck
