Update:  Part 2 of this tutorial for Blender 2.76 is now online, and available here: Model A Sphericon Pendant In Blender 2.76 (Part 2) | Making The Hole

Hi, everyone! In this tutorial, we model a sphericon pendant in Blender 2.76. This is a companion video to my latest 3dsmax tutorial of the same. I will attempt to translate the modeling strategy in Blender, to create an object which could be used in 3d printing, or as a unique design element, like a jewelry prop or sculpture, to be rendered in a scene. Unfortunately, the video cut short on me, and I wasn't able to create the hole for the necklace in this video. However, if there is interest in seeing that part, please let me know in the comments, and if there's enough interest, I'll make a part 2, which shows how to quickly create a hole for the necklace.

If you're interested in how to achieve this in 3dsmax, please see my tutorial here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_HObZ…

Also, be sure to check out Toki FX's speed modeling example, which he created in Blender, based on my 3dsmax tutorial of this object. Excellent work! www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDRfxm…

As always, if you have any questions, or need help in any way, please let me know. I hope you find this video useful in some way. Please be sure to like this video, and subscribe to my channel for more videos! See you soon!

Thanks very much for this tutorial. I seriously intend to have a go at it. I'm thinking on a larger scale as I think it would make a great spaceship! I also learned some great tips on new Blender features that I wasn't aware of!
