Free Bag Chair Download by LuxXeon Free Bag Chair Download by LuxXeon
Modeled entirely in 3dsmax 2012, rendered in Octane render. The zip download contains the object, and all textures you see here.

This detailed 3D Bag Chair is available as a native 3dsmax 2012 scene file (.max), and also in several scaled .obj formats, for importing easily into other applications, like Blender, Poser, or Daz|Studio. This versatile model comes complete with several fun and wild high-res COLOR texture maps to choose from. The model's UV coordinates are also perfectly suitable for use with any tileable image, or procedural textures. There is also a high detail BUMP and SPECULAR map included to use in those map channels respectively. All provided texture maps are in .jpg format, and at 2048 X 2048 pixel size; perfect for extremely close-up rendering. The topology of the model is 100% quads (quadrilateral faces), with a detailed, but optimized poly count of just 8,528 total polygons, and 8,530 verts. There are absolutely NO triangles or Ngons in this model, and no overlapping UV's. The original UV Template of the object is also included in the "maps" folder as an uncompressed .PNG file, to make your own patterns or textures from scratch, if you wanted.

You are free to use or modify this model as you see fit for your own projects or scenes; it's great as a decoration in a room, or as a comfy character prop. The model can be used for both commercial and non commercial renders. You may not, however, resell these objects, or any derivative of them; individually, or as part of a package/set.

Optionally, you could also download this object from the following locations, as well as preview the wireframe renders:

Turbosquid.com
ShareCG.com

As always, enjoy the model, and please contact me if you have any questions about how to integrate this model into your renders.

Nice work, is this a PMC or pathtracer ?

Pathtracing.  I probably could have used Direct Lighting with Diffuse mode, and maybe 3 or 4 bounces, to get a very similar, but faster result.  I usually reserve PMC for when I'm using materials that may generate a lot of noise, like refractive glass, or sometimes SSS.

May I ask how you do the textures so realistic? As you could see in my pictures the textures looks just too flat. Not enough bumbs.

Hi.  The textures here are just maps I made for the color, reflection/specular, and bump channels.  I try to create very high resolution bump maps, since that's where all the fine details are, and the larger the texture resolution of your bump maps, the more detailed they can be.  I believe great bump maps are the key to very realistic textures, so I try to pay special attention to those.  The color/diffuse maps need to be of reasonable detail as well, but are secondary to excellent bump details.  Finally, some good reflection or specular maps to define where the shiniest areas of the object are, or are not, is third on the list of importance, but still quite handy.

Thanks for the answer. :)
Now I think I will look for high resolution textures, if not then I will made it myself.

Nice!

One of those textures looks like a voronoi cell texture such as this: i.stack.imgur.com/EOjeJ.jpg

Yep.  Two of them are voronoi cells actually, generated from procedural textures inside 3dsmax.  I used the "Advanced Noise" procedural texture plugin, then generated a tile-able texture map from that.

Yeah, I see the other one now. Very interesting.

By the way, did you sculpt the chairs or use standard modeling methods?

All done with standard modeling tools in Max.  I used the cloth modifier to literally "inflate" the model, as if it were a balloon pumped full of air.  It's an interesting technique I learned in our advanced modeling class last year.  First time using it this way.  Took a few local simulations to get the result I wanted, but worked nicely. Then I just used some of the standard edit poly tools in the Graphite ribbon for the rest.

Wow, you inflated  it! I didn't know that was possible. It definitely gives a convincing result.

Hmmm.  Was it a model?  I forget.  Did you note me about it before?  I'll check my notes and see, but I'm about to start school again, so my time will be very limited soon.  I'll see what I can do if it was a request or something.
